About Us

Norma’s Café and seafood story began in 2012 when Chris Burns stumbled across the store, a quiet, hidden gem away spot perched in between the Mooloolah River and the Ocean surfside beach of Buddina. Chris and his family had just returned to Australia after running cafes in the UK and we’re looking for their next chapter in their lives.

Chris saw the potential of the location along with its beauty, being a short stroll to the ocean beach of Buddina which is a popular surf beach, and the banks of the Mooloolah River which are situated on Harbour Parade and the relaxing La Balsa Park, which is a family favourite.

The name Norma’s originated from the original owners (1972) who still live in the upstairs apartment in the complex. Chris saw this opportunity to the perfect spot, to provide good old-fashioned food at a reasonable price for our customers. Being community-oriented we offer a mixture of food to satisfy our customers.  All our produce is sourced locally, supporting our farmers and business. We believe that the Sunshine Coast is a special place, where you can come and relax.

You can grab a health breakfast, lunch or snack which can be enjoyed while you picnic at La balsa Park our on the surf beach.

Norma’s Café and Seafood has since become well known to all our locals, the friendly nature of our staff along relaxed atmosphere and quality dining experience.

Now writing its history again, Norma’s Seafood and Café is more than just a takeaway shop it is a local favourited.  Chris and his staff have built the Norma’s into what it is today, alongside valued staff members who have greatly contributed to the success, so why not pop in, and say hello.
